Race to the top!

Stairs nowadays are usually accompanied by adjacent escalators/elevators. They're mostly intended for the disabled though many have adopted the 'why walk when you can ride' mentality. Well let's give them a reason to exercise. Have a big red button which is to be pressed at the bottom of the staircase and another similar one at the top (people love pushing buttons, especially when they don't know its function). The button at the bottom activates a hidden stopwatch and the button on top stops the stopwatch. An LED display will show the final time of the persons hike up the stairs. For obvious reasons, the stopwatch needs to be able to record multiple records at once. This should do two things - encourage more people to use the stairway and basic human competition will have everyone walking faster for a better time. Burning calories and eliminating stairway clutter is a positive example of killing two birds with one stone. Inskickat av Daniel Volin.
