This is a simple but very sensible idea. Not only does it incorporate visuals but cross walks will now include sound to make them safer for people with impaired vision. When the button is pressed the speakers greet simply "You have activated the crosswalk" then following could be local weather, or simple facts about life that are updated from time to time. Ending it would say "It is now safe to cross. Thank you for your patience".
